THE FINLAND STATION IN ST PETERSBURG 7.2.-12.2.2011
Welcome to the Finland Station where art meets events production, design meets performance, business people meet designers and culture meets business. During a week in February 7. -12.2.2011 in St Petersburg one can see an overview of the Finnish creative economy: the producers and the agents. One will leave the Finland Station with new cooperation agreements and new friends.
For one week, 7. -12.2.2011 the Finnish creative economy takes over the medias of St Petersburg and the 700m² multifunctional exhibition space Loft Project ETAZHI where the Finland Station is organised.
The Finland Station is an overview of the Finnish creative economy, the success stories and the rookies: fashion, music, design, art, photography, event and tourism productions, av-productions, literature, modern dance and new circus – over 50 actors from all these different areas together create a lively and diverse exhibition week during which something happens at Loft Project Etagi every day. There is a seminar on creative economy called Creative Compass, a company party by Funk Production, culture projects for children, theater, debates in the round lounge, dance, circus, tea parties.
The agents and managers of creative economy, AGMA association together with the ESF-funded training scheme by the Bridge builders are responsible of the content and the arrangements of the exhibition. Other partners are Cursor Ltd., City of Helsinki, Rovaniemen Kehitys, The Baltic Institute of Finland and Turku Region Development Center.
